Each year, the Fashion Museum invites an expert from the fashion industry to select a Dress of the Year that captures the prevailing mood of fashion and represents the past year. The chosen design then becomes part of the Museum’s world-class collection. You can take a look back at all of the past selections in our online image gallery

Hunt has worked for some of the world's most influential women’s titles, from her post-graduate days as an Assistant Editor at magazine Jane, to her time as Deputy Editor of Grazia UK and ELLE UK.

She said: “It’s an honour to join a long list of admired editors and image-makers in selecting the Dress of the Year. And what a year to be asked to do it! 2022 proved to be a particularly pivotal one for all of us – culturally, socially and politically. It’s been a year in which fashion spoke volumes.”

The Dress of the Year 2022 will be revealed online this spring, so keep your eyes peeled for the big reveal!

The Fashion Museum left the Assembly Rooms in October 2022, and will be reopening in the Old Post Office in the centre of Bath. We’ll also be partnering with Bath Spa University to create a new Fashion Collection Archive based in Bath. Find out more about our exciting future plans.
