Famously known in the fashion world as the Miu Miu skirt set, the midriff-baring look features a light brown cotton twill micro mini skirt paired with a slashed blue cotton shirt and a cropped grey cable knit cashmere sweater. The outfit is accessorised with a brown leather belt, branded underwear, grey ribbed socks and brown and white leather sling back shoes.
First seen on the Spring/Summer 2022 runway, designer Miuccia Prada created a viral fashion moment with the low-waisted micro mini skirt becoming instantly iconic for its extreme proportions, Y2K style and reworking of the classic foundations of dress. The skirt set achieved internet-breaking status in 2022 with variations worn by everyone from Hailey Bieber and Zendaya to Chiara Ferragni and Nicole Kidman.
The cropped co-ord featured in every major fashion editorial and on countless feeds spawning a thousand social media memes as the most hardworking outfit in fashion. A viral sensation, it even has its own Instagram account @miumiuset created by New York based virtual stylist Ashley Langholtz documenting its many public appearances.
