A Study Facilities session

Study Facilities

We welcome everyone who wants to learn more about the museum collection.

People who want to see more of the Fashion Museum collection can book a space in the Study Facilities to see a selection of original fashions from the collection during a self-directed study session. The Study Facilities are open on Thursdays, and appointments last from 1100 to 1300 and from 1400 to 1600.

Visitors to the Study Facilities can choose what they want to see; but it is a good idea to contact us first on [email protected] to check whether there are objects in the collection that correspond with your interest. We welcome groups (maximum 8 people) as well as individuals, and can tailor-make sessions to suit special interests and specific needs. Please e-mail us to discuss your proposal.

This service is included in the cost of admission to the Fashion Museum, but must be booked in advance. Please note that this is a popular service; it can sometimes take up to 6 weeks to get an appointment. Click here to download the Heritage Services Research Framework document.

"Thank you so much for yesterday. I was completely inspired! What an incredible facility the study room is - it's a credit to the Fashion Museum."

“Thank you for your help and assistance in setting up and facilitating my private study session at the museum last week. It was a privilege to be allowed such behind the scenes access and I found the exhibits which you provided for me to study truly fascinating. It was a thoroughly absorbing few hours and I gained a lot from it.”
