A personal message from Stephen Bird, Head of Heritage Services

23 March 2020

Following the latest advice from Public Health England and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it's with great sadness that we've closed the Fashion Museum until further notice. The safety, health and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and volunteers must come first.

Tickets for upcoming exhibitions, tours, and any of our free event programmes will no longer be on sale until we have a clearer idea of when it will be possible to reopen. Any visitors with pre-booked tickets to the up to 31st May will be automatically refunded. Please read here for more information about refunds.

We’re greatly disappointed that this means the delay of our launch of the Museum’s new exhibition Shoephoria! But we promise that when our doors are open again, this shoe showcase of sneakers, trainers, designer and royalty footwear from the last 300 years will be worth the wait!

We face unprecedented challenges and uncertainty in the weeks ahead but, while our doors are closed, we’ll be busy working behind the scenes from home – keeping you posted on further updates, sharing some Shoephoria! stories, and photos from our fabulous Fashion Museum collection with you online. Stay in touch on our website and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as we do our best to provide you with inspirational and uplifting content through the difficult times ahead.

We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as we can. Please read here for more information about COVID-19.
