Fashion Museum’s Bill Gibb kimono on show at the V&A

The Fashion Museum’s hand-printed silk kimono from 1977, by celebrated British designer Bill Gibb, will feature in the V&A’s major Kimono exhibition. The design was once worn by Bianca Jagger.

28 January 2020

The exhibition will present the kimono as a dynamic and constantly evolving icon of fashion, revealing the sartorial, aesthetic and social significance of the garment from the 1660s to the present day, both in Japan and the rest of the world.

Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk opens at the V&A on 29 February.
