World Wide Knit in Public Day 2016

World-Wide Knit in Public Day

Warning

The date for this event has passed. Please check What's on for current events.

The Fashion Museum will celebrate the second birthday of the Bath branch of the Knitting and Crochet Guild (KCG) with a bonanza event on Saturday 10 June, World-Wide Knit in Public Day (WWKIP Day). The Museum hosts the Bath branch of the KCG, meeting on the second Saturday of every month from 10:00 to 12:00. This year we hope that WWKIP Day will be bigger than ever, with knitters and crocheters of all abilities coming together to celebrate their craft.

World Wide Knit in Public Day is the largest knitter-run event in the world and started in 2005 as a way for knitters to come together. With a strapline ‘Better living through stitching together’ the event has now grown and last year WWKIP Day events took place in 57 countries. So, whether you are a beginner or an old hand you are very welcome to come along to Boston Tea Party on Alfred Street from 10:00 until 12:00 to help us celebrate. Everyone welcome! There will be cake, quizzes, prizes, and the chance to knit along with this friendly group of knitters and crocheters.
