Ottoline Morrell was an important figure in the arts in Britain
in the early 1900s; she was well-connected and knew painters,
writers, regularly and inviting them to stay with her in her house
at Garsington in Oxfordshire.
She was noted for her striking visual appearance; much of this was
down to the bohemian style of clothes that she wore.

Lady Ottoline was photographed wearing this
dress in 1928 by Cecil Beaton for Vogue magazine.
